    In our first edition of "IDL im Dialog" for 2012 we have once again compiled a multitude of exciting and interesting information about IDL for you. You can read a guest contribution from Dr. Klaus Manhart titled "Why BPM?" about the central issues to which business performance management can be applied in a company, and how companies can benefit from

    BPM. In addition, the managing shareholder of IDL, Harald Frühwacht, explains why expert knowledge is essential for municipal consolidated financial statements in his report "Municipal Financial Management with IDLplus." Furthermore, you can expect a summary on "IDL at the BARC Forum" at this year's CeBIT in Hannover; you will also get a look at how the electrical specialist Benning combines and organizes its IDLKONSIS expertise within an IDLCollege workshop, and which innovations are part of the releases for IDLFORECAST and IDLPUBLISHER. What is more, we've also given our customer magazine a small "facelift" - you'll be surprised!

    Our latest issue of "IDL im Dialog" includes a study on "Business Performance Management Following the Financial Crisis", which was conducted by BARC GmbH as commissioned by IDL. The results obtained by BARC under this study are featured in this issue of "IDL im Dialog". Furthermore, a report on our 26th user convention held in Neuss, near Düsseldorf,
    will provide you with details on how about 200 participants were given the opportunity to inform themselves about new products and enhancements concerning IDLplus and exchange information and experience with numerous experts and professional users over three days. Our latest customer magazine is again supplemented by a lot of current and interesting information relating to our company, such as a short review of the IDL Specialist Forum 2011 or of the enhancements and improvements of the Service Center owing to the optimisation of our Internet presence.

    In our September issue of "IDL im Dialog" we want to draw attention to our new event series "IDL Specialist Forum" to which we invite proven experts of the German economy.
    This year we were successful in enlisting Prof. Dr. h. c. Lothar Späth as patron and speaker. On the technical side there is another highlight in the new version status of IDLplus 2011.0
    and its novelties. Find out how persuasive and efficiently you can work with our IDL solutions from a user report about Maurice Lacroix. Furthermore, for the first time in this issue we present several new and interesting columns all around IDL and its customers - be surprised.

    Under the heading "The last step in external reporting", in our first issue of "IDL im Dialog" in 2011 we present to you our new software tool IDLPUBLISHER. Read what this new tool can do and how, using IDLPUBLISHER, annual reports can easily be generated in Word directly from IDLKONSIS and IDLFORECAST.
    In addition, among other things we present to you IDL's business figures from the past year, introduce to you our new partners, K+H Software KG and up! consult GmbH, who will in future supplement our consultancy and marketing services, and report to you on IDL's very successful first road show, France SARL, in Paris.

    The 25th user convention in Frankfurt am Main was a very special event in many respects. Read what made this event so special in our latest issue of "IDL im Dialog". What's more, learn how indicator profiling is generating new decision-making qualities for companies, and how steel specialist Wuppermann AG auto- mated the data migration from SAP to
    IDLKONSIS. We also speak with Mr Walter Altmann, the new Managing Partner at IDL France SARL, about his intentions and aims with regard to his commitment to our newly-established subsidiary in France.

    This year, the IDL Group is celebrating its 20th birthday! To mark this special occasion, we have focussed on the history of IDL in our September issue and outline some of the decisive stages in our company's history in our editorial. Also in this issue is a detailed article from the 'IT Management' trade publication entitled "Business Intelligence - faster and
    better than your competitors".
    What's more, we report on the successful expansion of our international competences in Switzerland and France amongst other aspects, and present the latest IDLKONSIS and IDLFORECAST 2010.0 releases.

    IDL - 20 years as the professional leader, the innovative force. This was the slogan for our presence at CeBIT this year for which a detailed report can be found in our latest issue. We also intro- duce our partner and expert in the field of OLAP database, PARIS Technologies Inc., with whom we developed the IDLKONSIS-to-PowerOLAP integration.
    Moreover, a review of the IDL 2009 business year can be read, as can a summary of Novoferm GmbH's experiences with introducing IDLplus. And finally, we also present IDLCollege's newest specialist and system training.

    The article "High-level information exchange" in our December issue features a detailed report on the 24th IDL user convention in Dresden as well as a short retrospect of the user conventions in Austria and Switzerland.
    In this month's issue we also introduce an integration of IDLKONSIS and PowerOLAP, a product offered by PARIS Technologies Inc.,
    of whom IDL is a premium partner since 2008. This issue also includes reports about IDLCollege at the user convention in Dresden, North-Germany's biggest shopping centre dodenhof and its experiences with IDLplus, while also looking back at a successful business year 2009.

    Our latest issue of "IDL im Dialog" includes an article about the features of the new IDLplus 2009.0 software release which has developed to become an ever more powerful and effective consulting and software tool, thanks to the close cooperation with our users.     management", a report on IDLCollege regarding the "IFRS training concept with the Düsseldorf Business School" as well as an article about the construction works for the new modern software centre in Ahrensburg near Hamburg.

    "This issue features an experience report by the Sagem Orga Group, which opted for the IDL group reporting software in the light of a tighter deadline for preparing the financial statement and the changed group reporting requirements. We also introduce the Vereinigung zur Mitwir- kung an der Entwicklung des Bilanzrechts für Familiengesellschaften (VMEBF / Association
    for the Participation in the Development of the Accounting Rights for Family Enterprises). The association strives to support the requirements of family enterprises with regards to the international accounting principles. Finally, we introduce the new location of the IDL Switzerland, which has moved from Windisch to Zurich and now benefits from an even better transport connection."
